Shopify to WooCommerce

Shopify to WooCommerce, every product URL redirected.

Shopify is a strong platform. Stores leave it when app fees stack up, when the catalog or B2B rules need more than apps can offer, or when they want to own the code and the data outright.

We move Shopify stores to WooCommerce, the platform we work on every day: products, customers, orders and reviews across, and every Shopify URL redirected to its new home.

Why stores make this move

App costs.

Monthly apps for features WooCommerce handles with one plugin or a few lines of code.

B2B and complex catalogs.

Role-based pricing, quote requests, product configurators, custom checkout fields.

Ownership.

Your code, your database, your hosting, no transaction fee tied to the payment gateway you choose.

What moves, what gets rebuilt, what stays behind

Moves across

Comes across as it is

  • Products, variants, SKUs, stock, images
  • Collections, as categories
  • Customers and addresses
  • Order history
  • Blog posts and pages
  • Product reviews (from your reviews app’s export)
Gets rebuilt

Built again on the new platform

  • Theme and product templates
  • Checkout and payment gateways
  • Shipping and tax rules
  • Discount codes and gift cards
  • Transactional emails
  • Metafield content, as custom fields
Stays behind

Left on the old platform

  • Shopify apps (replaced by plugins or code)
  • Customer passwords (customers set new ones)
  • Shopify Payments and saved cards
  • Shopify-only checkout features

How we run it

  1. 01Inventory every URL.Products, collections, pages, blog posts, and the redirects you already set up in Shopify.
  2. 02List every appand decide what replaces each one: a plugin, custom code, or nothing.
  3. 03Export and map the data.Products, variants, metafields, customers, orders and reviews, tested on a sample first.
  4. 04Build the storewith templates, checkout, payments, shipping and tax, then place real test orders.
  5. 05Write the redirect map.Shopify uses /products/, /collections/ and /blogs/news/. WooCommerce uses different paths. Every URL, including product URLs nested inside collections, gets a one-hop redirect.
  6. 06Final sync at cutover.Orders and customers created since the first export come across on launch day.
  7. 07Launch, then watchorders, the 404 log and Search Console daily.

Where this usually goes wrong

Collection-nested product URLs.

Shopify serves the same product at /products/x and /collections/y/products/x. Both need a redirect.

Apps that were doing quiet work.

Upsells, tax, reviews, loyalty points. Each one needs a replacement or a decision.

Subscriptions.

Recurring customers need their own plan. See Recharge to WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Structured data lost.

Product schema with price, availability and reviews has to be rebuilt, not assumed.

What we won’t promise

That customers keep their passwords or saved cards. No store platform lets you export them. We plan the password reset email with you, and check with your payment processor what can move.

Frequently asked questions

Is it Shopify to WordPress or Shopify to WooCommerce?+

Both. WooCommerce is the store, WordPress is the site it runs on. Your pages and blog come across too.

Will we lose our SEO?+

Not from avoidable causes. Every product, collection and blog URL gets a one-hop redirect, and product schema is rebuilt. Rankings can still move while Google recrawls.

Can the store keep selling during the move?+

Yes. We build on staging and do a final sync of new orders and customers at cutover.

What about hosting?+

WooCommerce needs good hosting. We recommend one sized to your traffic and catalog, and can look after it on a WooCommerce maintenance retainer.
