Why stores make this move
Complex variants, product add-ons, bundles and tiered pricing.

- Squarespace-only extensions
How we run it
- 01Inventory every URL,with product and category URLs listed separately. They carry most of a store’s search value.
- 02Export products, customers and orders, clean the data, and map Squarespace fields to WooCommerce fields.
- 03Build the storeon WooCommerce with your theme, templates and checkout.
- 04Set up payments, shipping and taxand place real test orders.
- 05Redirect every product and category URLto its new equivalent, in one hop.
- 06Plan the customer message.Returning customers will need to reset their password once.
- 07Launch at a quiet time, test on production, and watch orders, 404s and Search Console.
Where this usually goes wrong
Squarespace and WooCommerce use different paths for products. Without a full map, product pages lose their rankings.
Field mapping has to be checked product by product on a sample before the full import.
These depend on the payment processor, not on Squarespace. We check what can move before we promise anything.
We set up sequential order numbers so new orders continue from your last Squarespace order.
What we won’t promise
That customers keep their passwords. Passwords cannot be exported from any hosted platform. We write the reset email with you.
Frequently asked questions
Will order history come across?+
Yes, for records, reporting and customer accounts. Old orders are not reprocessed.
Do customers need new accounts?+
No. Accounts move with their email address and order history. They set a new password the first time they log in.
Can the store stay open during the move?+
Yes. We build on staging, then import orders placed since the first export at cutover.
Which payment gateway should we use?+
Usually Stripe or PayPal, sometimes both. We set up whichever fits your market and fees.
